HOW TO REACH OUT TO INFLUENCERS
As you may have heard, influencer marketing is a rising trend in advertising. It’s a form of marketing that takes you to the personal stage, putting you in front of your audience by aligning yourself with the people they love most.
Given the nature of this marketing type, deciding which influencer is right for you depends heavily on your niche. It’s not as easy as choosing someone with a large following, arranging a shoutout, and calling it a day.
The process of influencer marketing is simple:
- Identify influencers in your market niche
- Get product (and/or payment) in their hands
- They create content that encourages social referral: the digital equivalent of word-of-mouth marketing.

When using this template, keep in mind the following:
- Customize it as much as needed.
- Be specific about what you’re sending in exchange for their work, and about what they need to send back to you.
- Talk incentives. See if you can incentivize them with other perks, like giveaways or special discounts for their audience.
- Make sure you discuss and agree on you (the business) can use the content. Ask if you’re able to repost, reuse, and re-market any content they create for you.
- Think about how you can share promotions with them. Perhaps you two can partner for a guest post, a shoutout in your newsletter, or something else.
If you repost and promote content from an influencer, make sure that you give them photo credit by tagging them and linking to their posts about your product if it’s on a blog.
CREATE A CRM OR SPREADSHEET TO KEEP TRACK OF LEADS
As you look for influencers, you may gather hundreds of leads, so it’s best to stay organized. You can use a CRM such as Hubspot, Salesforce, or Solve360. A more affordable option would be to use GoogleSheets or Excel.
CONSIDER MAKING THEM AFFILIATES
Turn your influencers into affiliates. By making them into affiliates, they get a bounty on each person that buys your product. Affiliate dollars usually start around $5/referral or customer.
You can even combine cash and referral dollars for a complete package. For example, you can offer them a $200 deposit and then a percentage fee for every order placed using their referral link or code.
